Our Aftercare

We know that the days and weeks following the loss of a loved one can be challenging, but you do not have to face the journey through grief alone. Kelly Haus is our compassionate, dedicated Aftercare Coordinator. We encourage you to seek out her valuable guidance along the way. Kelly listens, suggests methods for coping, and provides helpful resources. In addition, she hosts several grief care gatherings and events throughout the year to offer those who are grieving a chance to talk about their journey, receive support, and feel less alone.

Doug Manning Continuing Care Series

Families will receive this series of four books quarterly during the first year following a death. These books offer great comfort and gentle wisdom for grieving individuals.

Heartley Bear Program

Families are invited to attend one of several Heartley Bear Days where they create a bear that is cut and sewn from clothing worn by loved ones who have died. Visit our Heartley Bear Program page for more information.

Holiday Service of Remembrance

This service is dedicated to honoring the memory of the loved ones who have died over the past year. For many, it will be the first time they will return to the funeral home; understanding how difficult that can be, we are overwhelmed and humbled to have family members gather together with us. Our hope is that they find comfort in knowing they are not alone and that their loved ones will forever remain in our hearts.

Busy Hands for Love

This group is for all levels of knitters and crocheters. Newcomers are always welcome to join us. The projects are donated to local charities. We accept yarn donations. The group meets on the third Wednesday of every month, September through May, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Please call Kelly Haus at Mattson with questions: 651-464-3556.
