Sandra Kay Weseman (Sandy) passed away at United Hospital on September 11, 2020 after battling years of health problems. Her husband of 54 years, James Robert Weseman, was always by her side to make sure she was happy and comfortable. Her family thanks the Lord and rejoices in the fact that she is no longer in pain.
Her deep, abiding faith in God strengthened her throughout the many challenges in her life’s journey. Sandy was born August 7, 1947 to Wilbur and Jessie Alcock and grew up on a farm in Lino Lakes, Minnesota.
Sandy is survived by her husband James Robert Weseman, her three sons, two daughter-in-laws, and her granddaughter. Robert James Weseman, Gary Alan Weseman, wife Katy: and Russell Scot Weseman, wife Rebecca. Her granddaughter Aryel Nowell Weseman was the light of her life. She is also survived by her sisters and brother Alice Miller, Chuck Alcock and Peggy Wagner. She is preceded in death by her parents Wilbur Alcock and Jessie Alcock, and siblings: Max Alcock, Faye Glaraton, Jerry Alcock, Leola Alcock, Judy Brisson, and Ricky Alcock.
Sandy graduated from Forest Lake High School on June 5, 1966. Her love story, however, started years earlier. She met Jim in the 5th grade. They started dating in the 10th grade, and 13 days after her high school graduation on June 18, 1966 they were married.
The young couple started on their adventure right away.  Jim was in the U.S. Navy and deployed to Hawaii immediately after the wedding, Sandy joined him in October. About a year later, they moved to San Diego, CA where their first son Robert was born in November of 1967.  When Robert was just one month old, Jim was reassigned to San Francisco where they stayed for a year and half. Then it was on to Puerto Rico and the birth of a second son, Gary in March of 1971. Sandy, Jim and the two boys made their way back to White Bear Lake, MN in 1972 after Jim stepped down to the reserves. Baby number three, Russell, was delivered soon after in August of 1972.
In the scorching hot summer of 1985, the family moved to Santa Barbara, CA where Jim had an opportunity to work for a high school friend. While there, Sandy started her own house cleaning service and flourished. But soon they missed family and friends in Minnesota, so in 1989 packed up and returned to White Bear Lake.
Now home, Sandy landed a job in food service at 3M, rising to the rank of shift lead, before she eventually had to go on disability. She officially worked there until she retired.
After Jim’s retirement in 2012, neither could sit still. Looking for more adventures, Sandy became a biker chick. Jim bought her her prized Honda Goldwing Trike so they could start taking road trips. Their biggest escape was in 2015 with a five week trip through Canada and crisscrossing the East Coast. They also enjoyed other trips to Mexico and Europe, plus trips to see friends and family in the U.S.
Besides her faith, her husband and family, Sandy was passionate about her many,  many hobbies: gardening, canning fruits and vegetables, baking, sewing, crafts, scrapbooking, collecting teapots, snow globes and holiday figurines. She had just recently been taking lessons to learn how to paint. She also enjoyed decorating her house and yard for every season and every holiday, plus hosting or attending her yearly Christmas teas.
But by far her favorite passion was spending time with family and spoiling her granddaughter Aryel.
