Robert Jambor

June 1, 1934 — October 16, 2019

Wyoming

Robert Jambor was born in 1934 in St. Paul MN.  He grew up in the west 7th neighborhood with his parents Tony and Julia Jambor.  His first fishing partner was his brother Tony Jambor Jr.  Bob married his first wife Janette and they were married for 5 years when she passed unexpectedly.  Bob was a longtime employee of Farwell Ozman Kirk (FOK) where he met his wife Pat.  Bob and Pat married in 1964 and purchased a home on 3rd lake in Forest Lake, MN  Bob wanted more fishing buddies so along came their son Bobby in 1965 and daughter Tracy (Sis) in 1967.  12 years later when the first two kids were growing out of fishing with their Dad they decided to have another child and Brian was born in 1979, Bob’s forever fishing buddy.  Bob and Pat moved from their Forest Lake home to a smaller place in Wyoming in 1997.  Their trailer in Wyoming had the perfect runway for Bob’s habit of pacing the hall. Bob retired from FOK after 35 years but was soon bored and went on to work at various places for the next few years.  Bob found his true calling at Walmart in Forest Lake where he started in the sporting department.  Bob moved to greeter where he would talk with people and hand out the smile stickers to the little kids.  He worked at Walmart for 13 years. Bob enjoyed his grandchildren.  He shared a love of hunting with his grandson Kevin.  He would protectively watch his granddaughter Kristi go out on her paddleboard without a life jacket.  He shared a love of Hot Wheels with Grandsons Lewis and Marty.  Bob was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease but he continued to live at home in the care of his wife Pat until January 2019.  He was placed in the loving care of the staff at Birchwood Health Care Center.  The family is forever grateful to all who cared for Bob in his last months on this earth. Their compassion for Bob was a blessing during a difficult time. He was known there for his fish suspenders, drinking Pepsi, love of candy bars and his kind nature.   The family would also like to thank the dedicated team from Fairview Hospice who not only helped Bob with weekly visits but also helped the family transition through a trying time.

Bob will be deeply missed by his wife Pat Jambor; son, Robert (Bobby) Jambor; daughter, Tracy(sis) Lundeen; son-in-law Dale Lundeen; son, Brian Jambor: grandkids, Kevin and Kristi Lundeen and Lewis and Marty Jambor.  He will be joining his parents Tony and Julia Jambor and his Brother Tony Jambor in heaven.  He will be greeted with open arms and a fishing rod.

A Funeral Service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Monday, October 21, 2019, at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Dr., Forest Lake, Minnesota.  Visitation will be 4-6 at the funeral home prior to the service.
