Louise J. Dumire, age 88, of Forest Lake, Minnesota, died peacefully on Wednesday, November 18, 2020.  Louise was born August 29, 1932 in Browerville, Minnesota, the youngest of five children.  She lived on the family farm until she was nineteen years old and lived and worked in Staples, Minnesota before moving to Minneapolis where she met her future husband, Ronald Dumire who was in the service.  They were united in marriage and lived in Minneapolis until they moved to Martin Lake, Minnesota where a home was being built.  Ronald died of cancer in 1973.  The family was able to finish the home and enjoyed living there for four years.  During that time, she enjoyed fishing and having a garden.  The family moved to Forest Lake in 1977 where she remained until her death.  Louise worked at Forest View Elementary in the kitchen for three years before becoming a dietary cook at Birchwood Health Care Center.  She retired in 1998.  Over the years, she enjoyed traveling and was fortunate to have visited Jerusalem four times.  She was proud to have seen many of the important places Jesus traveled and his birthplace.  That was the highlight of her travels with her daughter, Kathryn and son-in-law, Nabil.  She also enjoyed her visits to Milwaukee to see her siblings and family.  Louise was generous with her time and talents.  She gave selflessly to many activities at Faith Lutheran Church, Fairview Hospital, VFW Post 4210 Auxiliary, Forest Lake Senior Center and many Veteran’s homes and hospitals. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Barbara (Brochcek) Mikish; husband, Ronald Dumire; son, Douglas Dumire; three sisters, one brother.  She will be deeply missed by her children, Kathryn (Nabil) Kayali, Fred Dumire, Donna Leohr, Wanda Dumire, Charles Dumire; eleven grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; other family and friends.

Private graveside services will be held Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.  Live streaming will be available.
