John Theodore Blake, of Forest Lake, MN; originally of Milltown, WI , died Thursday, January 7, 2021. John was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Blake and parents, John Christian Blake and Ruth B. Blake. He is survived by his daughter, Toni (Andrew) Quinn; sons, Damon (Chelsey) Blake, and Nathan Blake (Nancy Wong); granddaughters, Isabella Blake, Patricia Blake, and grandson, Michael Cable; sister, Gerry Moore as well as many other friends and relatives.  John was in the United States Navy for four years. He married Patricia Nelson in 1967 and they remained married for 47 years. He worked at 3M Company for approximately 35 years and was able to retire at age 55. He loved his family, took great pride in his yard, and loved the family lake cabin in Wisconsin, where many good times were had water skiing and tubing.

John’s wishes were that there be no formal funeral. Unfortunately due to Covid we will not be able to gather until this pandemic is over. God willing, an informal gathering in his honor will occur at the lake this summer or fall.  In lieu of flowers or money, if so moved, friends and loved ones are encouraged to make a charitable contribution in John’s name. John’s favorites were his church, any animal shelter or ASPCA, Smile Train, or his beloved Indian school.
