Edmund “Ed” McDonough of Leesburg, FL and Wyoming, MN passed away on 1/17/21 due to a tragic accident doing what he enjoyed most, which was helping others with projects around their homes.  The oldest of 7, Ed was born on 12/21/44 to Floyd and Audrey (Markey) McDonough in Mondovi, WI. He moved with his family to Wheeler, WI. in 1958 and graduated from Boyceville High School, Class of 1963. Growing up, most of his time was spent on the family farm.  On 8/26/67, Ed married Janet Olson in Wheeler, WI, and they were married for more than 49 years, until her passing in 2017. Ed and Jan lived in St. Paul and Minneapolis before settling in  Wyoming, MN in 1971. They raised their 3 children there and were very active in their community. They attended Sunnyside Free Lutheran Church in Stacy and Grace Evangelical Free Church in Wyoming.  Ed was a millwright by trade. In his younger years, he enjoyed his first new car, which was a 1964 Chevy Impala SS convertible. Later, he made time to restore an old Model A. Early on, Ed and Jan belonged to a snowmobile club. He spent a lot of time at his church participating in activities, as well as helping others with maintenance and remodeling projects. We can’t tell you the number of people who have already approached us to let us know the countless ways he has helped them out, never accepting any type of payment, other than maybe a homemade meal or a piece of pie. He had a special concern for the widows in his community.  Ed was the true leader of his family. He loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren very much. They will miss him terribly. He was also lucky to find love again with Ruth Larson, who he cherished dearly. Ed was a born-again Christian with an unwavering faith.  We have assurance that we will see him again in Heaven someday.   In addition to his parents and wife, Ed was preceded in death by his brothers, Larry, Ron, David and Allen; his parents-in-law, Pete and Myrtle Olson; brother-in-law, Gayle Tudahl; nieces, Elise Waller and Lynnette Hoff; nephew, Robert Hoff and great niece, Loren Roos.  Ed was followed closely in passing by his great granddaughter, Blair Evelyn Kennedy.  Survived by his fiancée, Ruth Larson; daughters, Tammy McDonough-Gast (Steve Gast) of Coon Rapids, Brenda (Bob) Beard of Princeton and son, Tim of New Brighton; grandchildren, Ashlie (John) Kennedy, Zach (Brittany) Gast, Madalyn Gast, Laura Gast, Randy (Lynnay Anderson) Beard, Tylor (Billy) Cummings, Amelia and Mason Beard; great grandchildren, Quinn, Piper, Parker, Audrey, Malin, Sean, Mia, Kharmyn, Lilymae, Callahan; sisters, Sharon (Larry) Hoff, Wendy (Tom Goodell) Turner; sisters-in-law, Beverly Tudahl, Mary Ann (Bud) Roos; brother-in-law, Ron Olson; nieces, nephews and many friends.
