Diane Marie (Sandell) Peterson, was born at Deaconess Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota to David and Donna Sandell on February 4th, 1961. Diane grew up on the family farm with her parents, sister and brother. She went to grade school at Gilby, North Dakota and graduated from high school at Midway high school in Inkster, North Dakota May 1979. Diane attended UND in Grand Forks, North Dakota with a bachelor of Science in Home Economics with Cum Laude Honors in May 12th, 1985.
Diane was employed as a dietitian at Grand Forks Clinic, then eventually moved to Fargo, ND and worked at the Meritcare Pediatric clinic. She then later joined the Nestle Company and worked as a nutrition representative. Her last employment was at Devita dialysis in the Twin Cities.
Diane married Boyd Jon Peterson on June 26th, 2005 and built their life together in Chisago City, Minnesota. Diane enjoyed celebrating holidays with her family, also enjoyed cooking, flower gardening, home decorating and fine dining. She loved to travel when she was still able to do so. Anything she put her mind to she could accomplish.
Diane was loved by many family and friends. She was kind generous and loving. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.
She is preceded in death by parents, David and Donna Sandell; and brother, David Jr. She is survived by husband, Boyd; sister, Debra Pollard; niece, Rachel; grandnieces, Autumn and Elise Whitehurst; stepdaughters, Katie (Gary) Nelson, Anna (Gary) Zauner; grandchildren, Lucas, Grant, Bailey, Daylen; other family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2020, at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Family will be greeting friends one hour prior to the time of remembrance.
