Bonita Rae Risnes, age 81, of Stacy, passed away peacefully December 31, 2020 in the comfort of her granddaughter Amber's home after listening to You Are My Sunshine by Johnny Cash with Amber, and Shaun by her side after a long battle with heart failure. Bonny was born June 30, 1939 in Mobridge, SD. Preceded in death by her husband Bill of 35 years, her parents, and siblings. Bonny loved to spend her time with her family, and friends whether it was dancing, laughing, golfing, swimming, traveling, watching the sunrise/sunset on her lake, playing mexican train, her love for watching westerns (Lancer, High Chaparral, Hawkeye) and scrapbooking. She was full of spunk, and sass with her contagious laugh, yet so very sweet, caring, and compassionate. Her independent, and strong willed personality set her apart from many. She was our super mom/grandma, as she fought cancer 3 times, and was quite the fighter, right to the end. Bonus is that our super mom/grandma never contracted COVID. She is survived by her two daughters Joy (Kenny), and Cindy (Jeff). Her grandchildren Amber (Shaun), Tadd (Leah), Eric, Brian, Kenny Jr. (Mallissa), and Becky. Along with many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Private service will be held for immediate family.
