Betty Lou Legatt, 86, passed away on October 26, 2020 at the Meadows on Fairview in Wyoming, Minnesota.  She was preceded in death by eight siblings; Bernice, Walter, Jack, Marie, Jeanette, Irma, Richard, and Bernard.  She is survived by her sister, Elaine Andersen, and many nieces and nephews.  A special thanks go to family caregivers; Martha Rivera, Julie Hill, Lynda Christman, Karen Rieck, Maureen Jovanovich, and to the entire staff at the Meadows.  Betty Lou was born on April 7, 1934, to John and Louise Legatt in St. Cloud, Minnesota where she lived until after her high school graduation from Cathedral High.  She moved to Minneapolis where she continued her education and pursued a career as an executive secretary, working for Ford Motor Company for many years.  In her mid-forties she packed her bags again, moving on in her adventuresome life.  She drove to California alone, setting up residences in Beverly Hills, then Anaheim, continuing her career and traveling.  Betty Lou was guided by new experiences and traveled alone to Africa and to many of the middle eastern countries.  She was a charter member of the National Association of Secretaries.  Betty Lou returned to Minnesota two years ago due to health reasons, and to be with her family and relatives whom she cared about so deeply.  She always felt her true home was in Minnesota.  She will be deeply missed by all of us.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake.  Family will be greeting friends one hour prior to the service.
