William L. Daun III

William Lawrence Daun III, passed away on October 10, 2023, at the age of 75. Born on July 1, 1948, in San Francisco, California. William led a life defined by passion, dedication, and a love for the open road.

Bill's journey in this world was marked by his unwavering commitment to his craft. Graduating from Coon Rapids High School, he honed his skills as a custom motorcycle mechanic, establishing his own successful business. Being self-employed allowed William to channel his expertise and creativity into every project he undertook, earning respect and admiration from his clients and fellow enthusiasts alike.

In addition to his professional achievements, Bill cherished his role as a husband to his devoted spouse, Janet Daun. Their bond was rooted in deep love and unwavering support. Throughout their years together, they shared countless adventures, laughter, and the joys of companionship.  Bill enjoyed Car racing, Kayaking, camping, fishing, and hunting.  He was a member of the Grim Reaper Motorcycle Club.

William Lawrence Daun III's departure has left an indelible mark on all who knew him. His expertise, kindness, and zest for life will be deeply missed by the many lives he touched. May his soul find peace and may his memory forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to those who loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; stepdaughter, Kathy Schintgen; sister, Sally Daun. 

He is survived by his wife, Janet; children, William “Ty” (Bradli) Daun IV, Ilsa (Andy) Ferris, Tina Daun, Elizabeth Daun; stepson, Mark (Stacy) McCollough; step son-in-law, Jay Schintgen; several grandchildren and step grandchildren; sister, Di Nova; special family friends Bud (Lori) Wawers; Phil (Linda) Weller, Dave (Marie) Meyer, and Carol “Red” Wawers.

Services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday October 21, 2023, at B&L Farms 2461 Crosstown Blvd NE, Ham Lake, MN 55304.   Interment will be held on a later date at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Forest Lake, Minnesota.
