Wally Magnuson

age 81 of Scandia, Minnesota died June 24, 2009 at Greeley Health Care Center in Stillwater.  Wally was born on March 3, 1928 to Bernhard and Rhoda (Ecklund) Magnuson in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  He graduated from the Forest Lake High School in 1946 and was united in marriage to Deloris on Novemeber 18, 1949 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Osceola, Wisconsin.  Wally was a lifetime Scandia resident and charter member of Scandia-Marine Lions Club. He was also a 26 year Scandia Fire Department Volunteer. He is preceded in death by brother Russell. Survived by his devoted wife of 59 years Deloris; their children, Laurie (Gerald) Satre, Mary (Chris) Hogan, Roger (Becky); seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and other family and numerous friends.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday June 29, 2009 at Elim Lutheran Church, 20971 Olinda Trail North, Scandia. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m., Sunday at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake and one hour prior to the service at church.  Interment at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Centuria, Wisconsin. Memorials may be directed to Elim Lutheran Church.
