Valerie Jean Ihrke, 66, of Stacy, Minnesota passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Glasgow, Montana, on January 5, 1959, Valerie's life was defined by her devotion to family, faith, and service to others.
Valerie was the beloved daughter of Elwood and Myrna Craig, and a cherished sister to Lynn (Tim) Stoltzman, Orleen (Mike) Haseltine, Dustina (Jay) Erickson, Buck (Natasha) Craig, and Lori Broker.
She married the love of her life, Mark Ihrke, on June 24, 1978. Together, they created a life full of love, joy, and adventure, raising five children: Anessa (Jeff) Beimert, Abby (Josh) Shold, Joseph (Charlotte) Ihrke, Jonathan (MegAnn) Ihrke, and Alexa Ihrke (Alex Price). Valerie was also a proud grandmother to many beloved grandchildren: Aylee, Asher, Sophia, Bristol, , Madi, Lincoln, Scarlett, Markus, Charlee, Gwen, Hazel, Cyril, Jeffrey, Molly, and Alexa's golden retriever Henry.
A graduate of Forest Lake High School and later a proud graduate of Century College in Nursing, Valerie dedicated 40 years of her life to the nursing profession at Fairview, where she touched countless lives with her compassionate care. Her nursing career was a reflection of her gentle spirit and her commitment to helping others.
Her faith played a significant role in her life, and Valerie was an active volunteer at Maranatha Assembly of God, where she served in a variety of ministries, including Cup of Faith, Children’s, and Women’s Ministries. Her heart was always open to others, and she gave freely of her time and love to support her church community.
Outside of her work and volunteerism, Valerie was an avid lover of the outdoors. She enjoyed cross-country skiing, hiking, camping, biking, and swimming, and cherished the many trips she and Mark took to explore the beauty of the country. Most of all, she adored spending time with her family, creating memories that will live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
Valerie's warmth, kindness, and laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy will live on through her family, her faith, and the countless lives she touched over the years.
A memorial service to honor Valerie’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Maranatha Assembly of God, 24799 Forest Blvd, Forest Lake, Minnesota. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In honor of Valerie, guests are kindly asked to wear pink or blue, as these were her favorite colors.
