Thomas E. Hefty

Thomas Edward Hefty, 78, of North Branch, Minnesota, passed away suddenly at home on August 1, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and friends. He was born on September 8, 1947, in Falcon Heights, Minnesota, to Edward and Irene (Erb) Hefty, who preceded him in death.

Tom shared 32 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Jeanne (Werthman) Hefty. Together they built a life centered on love, hard work, and creating a welcoming home wherever life took them. Throughout the years, Tom invested himself wholeheartedly in every community where he and Jeanne lived, believing that a neighborhood became stronger when people cared for one another and gave back.

Tom enjoyed a distinguished career spanning more than 40 years in real estate acting as an appraiser and assessor. He concluded his professional assessor career with Ramsey County before retiring. Known for his integrity, strong work ethic, and attention to detail, he earned the respect of colleagues, clients, and friends alike. His commitment to excellence extended beyond his profession, as he enthusiastically devoted countless hours to home association leadership and projects, approaching each responsibility with care and meticulous craftsmanship.

When he wasn't working, Tom found great joy in spending time with Jeanne. Together they loved traveling and camping in their fifth-wheel camper, creating cherished memories along the way. Gulf Shores held a special place in their hearts, providing a favorite destination where they enjoyed relaxation, sunshine, friends, and time together.

Above all, Tom treasured his family. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Jeanne; his children, Scott (Cheri) Hefty and Brian (Lindsay) Hefty; his stepchildren, Debra (Randy) Sevelius, Susan Thill, and Daniel (Staci) Thill; his grandchildren, Marissa, Brianna, and Kaitlyn; his stepgrandchildren, Jocelyn, Noah, Nicholas, Delaina, and Ruby; and his sister, Barbara (Kevin) Bailey. He also leaves behind many extended family members, friends, neighbors, and colleagues whose lives were enriched by his kindness, generosity, and steadfast character.

Tom will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, dedicated professional, and dependable friend. His legacy lives on in the family he loved, the communities he faithfully served, and the countless lives he touched through his generosity, strength, and unwavering commitment to doing things well.

A celebration of Tom's life will be held at a later date. Family and friends will be invited to gather to honor his memory and celebrate a life well lived. Details will be shared once arrangements have been finalized.

His memory will forever be held close by those who knew and loved him.
