The family of Shelley P. Rehak, age 74, are heartbroken to announce after her long and difficult battle, she is finally free of pain, passing peacefully on Saturday, July 19, 2025. Born December 22, 1950 in Portage, Wisconsin to John and Beatrice VanWormer, Shelley graduated from Portage High School Class of 1969. She loved to sew and crochet. She threw plenty of double ringers in her day on a few horseshoe teams. Her favorite thing to do was fish with family, which she got to do a lot when she moved with the love of her life, Butch to the Land of 10,000 Lakes, where she lived for the last 27 years.
She will be missed by many, especially her husband, Butch; children, Bob (Crystal) Howe, Sarah (Mathew) Kaether, Ben (Rachael) Rehak; grandchildren, Jorden Grubb, Robert Joseph (Shelby) Howe, Natalie Nielsen, Harper Kaether, Hadleigh Kaether; great grandchildren; special granddog, Boomer; siblings, Joan (Rex) Tilley, Colleen (Jerry) Howes, Mark (Margie) VanWormer, Lana Hamilton; sisters by love, Julie (Rob) Reveley, Jan (Dave) Carlson; brothers-in-law, Tim (Tina) Rehak, Tom Rehak; sisters-in-law, Barb (Terry) Richison, Kim Madigan, Michelle (Kevin) Rehak; many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Shelley is preceded in death by her dad, John VanWormer; mom, Beatrice Heberlein; second dad, Bob Heberlein; sisters, Laurie (Dave) Habeck, Nancy (John) Wahl; father-in-law, Ben Rehak Jr.; mother-in-law, LaVonne Rehak.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date in Portage, Wisconsin.
