Sharon Rose Bauer

Sharon “Ma” Rose Bauer, age 70, of Hillman, Minnesota, passed away on September 18, 2026.

Sharon was born on February 4,1956, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Clarence and Rosina Drobinski. She grew up surrounded by her many siblings and fondly remembered taking yearly family trips and playing touch football on Blair Avenue.. Sharon attended St. Vincent’s School through the eighth grade and later graduated from Saint Agnes High School.

Sharon began her working years at a dry cleaner and in accounting at Warner Continental. She went on to build a long career in accounting with Target Corporation, where she worked for over 30 years and formed friendships that continued well beyond her retirement.

On June 25, 1977, Sharon married Thomas Michael Bauer. Together, they raised their two children, Michael (Karyn Else) Bauer and Rosanne (Adam) Meyers and built a life filled with family, friendships, adventures, laughter, and many treasured memories.

Sharon was “Mom” to her own children, but was also affectionately known as “Ma” to many extended family members and friends. She loved bringing people together, entertaining, and had a gift for making people feel welcome, loved, and at home. Her extraordinary hospitality was well known, as were her famous Bloody Mary’s.

Sharon especially cherished time spent with her granddaughter, Coryn “Sweetie Pie” Meyers. She also enjoyed gardening, crafting, playing games, doing puzzles, traveling, riding side-by-sides, soaking up the sunshine, and spending time on the water. Whether she was visiting with cabin neighbors, crafting with friends, enjoying time at Canyon Lake RV Resort, or sharing lunch with longtime Target friends, Sharon treasured the relationships she made throughout her life.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Rosina Drobinski; brothers, Jerome Drobinski, Donald Drobinski, and John Drobinski; and brother in law, Jerry Ogren.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Thomas; children, Michael (Karyn Else) Bauer and Rosanne (Adam) Meyers; beloved granddaughter, Coryn “Sweetie Pie” Meyers; siblings, Joan Ogren, Susan (Gary) Freseman, Barbara Benassi, Cynthia Brooks; sister in laws, Beverly Drobinski and Gwen Drobinski; dear friends, Dan and Stacy Weaver, Chuck and Bonnie Gerhard, and Teddy and Craig Braun; as well as her past and present cabin neighbors, cabin craft ladies, Canyon Lake RV Resort friends and family, Target lunch friends, and the many other family members and friends who lovingly knew her as “Ma.”

A gathering of family and friends will held from 3:00-6:00 p.m., Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake, Minnesota.
