Age 89 of Forest Lake, p assed away peacefully on February 24, 2009

Preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude: siblings, Evelyn, Rosalyn, Louis; son-in-law Bill Ruddy.

Survived by his children, Joann (Joe) Ryan, Mary Kay Ruddy, Joe (Judy) Foley, Michelle Parness, Susan Krenn, Michael (Zoeann), Debbie (David) Thompson, June Aussem, Karen Parness, Allen, Dick; sister Leona (Martin) Cohen; many grandkids, great grandkids, great-great grandkids; many other family and friends. Sam loved his sports including bowling, where he was a semi-pro, golfing and fishing. He was a proud member of the VFW Post 4210 of Forest Lake.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 2, 2009 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive , Forest Lake . Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery .
