Robert Mickelson

Robert K. Mickelson, age 69 of Forest Lake, Minnesota, died Tuesday, October 2, 2018.  Bob worked as a State Trooper with the Minnesota State Patrol from 1971-2000.  He especially enjoyed his work as an accident reconstruction specialist with the State Patrol.  Bob loved his family and truly enjoyed time spent with his grandkids.  He could often be found in the woods; hunting, four-wheeling, building deer stands, camping and fishing.  He also enjoyed learning about new technology.  He is preceded in death by his father, Robert; mother, Elaine (Myron) Yaw; brother, David; sister-in-law, Marlene.  He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Jean; children, Brett (Deborah), Kristin (Ryan) Hazen; grandchildren, Jacob, Analise, Sophie, Max, Liam; siblings, Ed, Colleen (Larry) Smith, Carol (Harry) Preble; nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 12, 2018 at the Church of Saint Peter, 1250 South Shore Drive, Forest Lake.  Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday at Mattson Funeral Home 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake and one hour prior to the service at the church.  Memorials may be directed to the family for designation to one of Bob’s favorite charities.
