Robert “Bob” Louis Linwood, age 85, of Forest Lake, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on April 23, surrounded by his family.
Bob was born on February 15, 1941, in Minneapolis, MN, to Gordon Linwood and Irma Hastert. He grew up in Northeast Minneapolis, a place he always spoke of with pride, and graduated from Edison High School.
Bob met Rosalee “Rosebud” (Roy) Linwood at Flaherty’s in Arden Hills. They were married on January 6, 1973, in St. Thomas Aquinas Church in St. Paul Park, MN and built a life together on Forest Lake, where they enjoyed a lifetime of beautiful sunsets and created countless memories with family and friends.
Bob was an entrepreneur who started and ran Shoreline Express, growing it into a successful freight company. He was active in the local business community and served as president of the Lakes Area Business Association.
Bob had a deep love for life’s simple pleasures. He enjoyed fishing and spending time on the lake and took great pride in his classic 1957 Chevy Bel Air. In the winters, he and Rosalee treasured their time snowbirding in South Padre Island, Texas, where they enjoyed the warmth and many friendships they made over the years.
A passionate sports fan, Bob followed Minnesota sports closely. He attended all four Minnesota Vikings Super Bowl appearances and the Gophers’ last Rose Bowl victory. He spent many Sundays watching NASCAR.
Bob is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Rosalee; his children, Ryan Linwood (Angela); Robb Linwood (Cami); Reid Linwood (Abby); and Danielle Cincoski (Joe); his seven grandchildren, who brought him great joy; and many extended family members and dear friends who will cherish his memory.
Bob will be remembered for his love of family and his friends. His presence, stories, and steady nature will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
