Robert “Bob” M. Larkin, age 67, of Hugo, formerly of St. Paul, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 22, 2026.
Bob’s life was centered around the people he loved most. As the youngest of nine children, family meant everything to him. He shared a deep love and devotion for his mother, Lorraine, and remained close with his brothers and sisters throughout his life. Above all, Bob’s greatest bond was with his only daughter, Jen. It was the two of them through life together. The closeness they shared only grew stronger over the years. They talked every single day during her drive to work, and no conversation ended without him making sure she had enough gas in her car. He was endlessly proud of her for becoming a nurse, but even more proud of the woman, mother, and person she became. The two were not only father and daughter, but lifelong best friends.
Bob was a man of deep faith who loved God, his family, and the simple joys in life. He adored his grandchildren, McKenna and Gatlin, and treasured playing games with them and sharing bowls of ice cream together. He also dearly loved his dogs, Tahoe and Kota, and enjoyed taking them for walks.
He enjoyed cheering on the Minnesota Twins and Vikings, traveling, camping in Danbury, visiting the casino, and especially trips to Las Vegas. Bob appreciated a nice car and was especially proud of his brand-new Bronco. He loved presidential history and collecting presidential memorabilia and could always share interesting stories and facts. After years working in the produce department at Byerlys, he never lost his sense of humor and was always ready with a good produce joke. He also loved a fresh pair of Nike shoes.
Bob was known as a kind, generous, and genuinely good man with a warm heart and easygoing nature. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Lorraine Larkin; sister, Toni (Jack); and brothers, Buzz, Tim, Greg, and John.
Bob will be deeply missed by his daughter, Jennifer (Andrew) Urbaniak; grandchildren, McKenna and Gatlin; siblings, Dan (Arlene), Mary, and Kathleen McCourt; sisters-in-law, Debora, Marilee, and Lori; many nieces and nephews; and the dogs he dearly loved, Tahoe and Kota.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 5, 2026, at St. Genevieve Catholic Church, 1683 Sorel St in Centerville, MN 55038. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
