Rebecca A. Frego

Rebecca A. Frego, age 73, of Linwood Township, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025. She was lovingly known as Becky to those who knew her best. Becky was born on March 5, 1952, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Calvin and Della (Hansen) Jansen. She grew up with a deep sense of community and a love for family, graduating from Spring Lake Park High School in 1970 before continuing her studies at Mankato State University.

Becky's life was marked by her unwavering love for her family and a deep connection to her faith. She met the love of her life, Ronald Frego, at church, and the two were married on October 2, 1971, in Minnetonka, Minnesota. Together, they shared a rich life full of love, laughter, and unwavering support for each other and their children.

Becky was a dedicated professional, working as a project planner for Teradyne, where she contributed to the design and production of test equipment for microprocessors. Outside of her career, she was deeply involved in her community. She was a member of the Memorial Quilters in Forest Lake, Minnesota, where she spent many hours creating beautiful quilts, and she was also a founding member of the Friends of Linwood Township History. She was passionate about preserving the past while celebrating the present.

Her creativity extended to her many hobbies, including painting, quilting, sewing, and making doll clothing for her cherished doll collection. She was a woman of many talents and loved to share her creations with those around her.

Above all, Becky was a "mom to all." She had a rare gift for seeing those who needed care and support and never hesitated to offer a kind word, a listening ear, or a helping hand. Whether it was a friend or a stranger, if someone needed a friend, Becky would say, "Come with me," and open her heart. She was known for her intelligence, her determination, and her unwavering positivity. Despite years of pain from medical complications, Becky remained strong and refused to let her struggles define her. Her resilience and strength were an inspiration to all who knew her.

Becky is preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Della Jansen, and her brother-in-law, Wayne Frego. She will be deeply missed by her beloved husband, Ron; her children, David (Sandy Pulk) Frego, Anna Kleinschrodt, and Laura (Joshua) Hakes; her grandchildren, Emily (Erica Schneider), Ashley (Mason Moore) Kleinschrodt; her siblings, Dale (Kathleen) Jansen, Judith (Alan) Martin, Keith (Kaye) Jansen, Glen (Mary Ellen) Jansen, and Maribeth (Bob) Brennan; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A memorial service to celebrate Becky’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake, Minnesota. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Linwood Township Cemetery.

Becky’s light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who loved her, and she will never be forgotten.
