Mead, Pearl, age 87, of Champlin, MN, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on August 17, 2020. Pearl married Harlan Mead and spent twenty years traveling the world as part of the Air Force, while building a family. Pearl always made sure to make each place they moved a home filled with love and support for her growing family. After Harlan’s retirement from the Air Force, the family moved back to Champlin, MN in 1972, Pearl once again created home for her family, and began work at the Osseo Library. She worked with the Hennepin County Library sharing her love of books and people with everyone she came across until her retirement. Pearl loved her family and always had time for her children, and later her grand & great-grandchildren, reading books, singing songs, and playing card games. She loved watching birds at their backyard feeders, tending to her beautiful flowers, hosting family reunion picnics, and hanging out with the family in the backyard. Pearl lived the last eight years of her life at the Meadows on Fairview in Wyoming, MN, where she was loved by staff and residents alike. She lived a full life and will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and everyone else who knew her. Pearl taught her girls not say goodbye, as that was too final and not good luck. So, we will say rest in peace and see you later alligator, until we meet again. She is preceded in death by husband, Harlan; and son, Clifford. Survived by children, Carol (Bill) Eastridge, Cindy Ryan, Cheri (Scott) Dexter; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and sister, Muriel Carty.
Private family interment at Champlin Cemetery.
