Patricia A. Parker, age 82, of Forest Lake, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. A woman of deep faith, unwavering compassion, and generous spirit, Pat will be remembered for the love she gave freely, the joy she brought to others, and the strength with which she lived her life.
Patricia was born on December 9, 1942, in New Ulm, Minnesota, to Carl and Erna (Albrecht) Fenske. She grew up in the small town of Hanska before her family moved to a farm in New Ulm in 1958. A proud graduate of New Ulm High School, Class of 1960, she briefly pursued nursing before discovering that the medical field wasn’t for her—especially after nearly fainting at the sight of blood.
Instead, Pat found her calling in communication, working as a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell. Her career in the telecommunications industry spanned more than three decades, culminating with Century Link where she served as a sales representative.
On May 28, 1983, Pat married the love of her life, Robert Parker, in a joyful ceremony at St. John's Lutheran Church in Northeast Minneapolis—what they often called the best day of their lives. Together, they built a beautiful life and home on a hobby farm in rural Forest Lake, moving there in 1986. Their partnership was filled with purpose and service to others.
In retirement, Pat remained deeply involved in causes close to her heart. She and Bob served as foster parents for many years, opening their hearts and home to developmentally disabled children. They also provided loving homes to countless rescue dogs through St. Francis of Assisi Animal Rescue. Pat found joy in serving others through Builders for Christ, and her deep connection to Christ Lutheran Church in Hugo, where she and Bob had been devoted members since 1986, was central to her life.
Pat was outgoing, kind-hearted, and full of life. She loved to visit, to laugh, to play cards, and had a special affection for swans. Her concern for others was evident in every interaction—she always put others first, and her presence was both comforting and uplifting. Even in the face of illness, Pat was courageous and hopeful, her faith never wavering. Her smile and steadfast spirit were inspiring to all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Carl and Erna. Pat will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Bob; children, Brian (Becky) Pederson, Carlene Pederson, Joe (Andriea) Pederson; stepchildren, Curtis (Judy) Parker, Michael Parker, Joe Parker, Jean Parker; cherished grandchildren, Jonathan Pederson, Gavin Pederson, Maryann (Carlos) Pederson, Emma Parker, Zade Pederson, Tristan Pederson, Olivia Parker, and Lang Parker; brother, Steve (Joan) Fenske; niece, Lori (Jeff) Bratsch; nephew, Michael (Joan Keilty) Fenske; and many other dear family members and friends.
A memorial service to celebrate Pat’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Christ Lutheran Church, 4790 Rosemary Way, Hugo, Minnesota. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
Though Pat has left this world, her legacy of love, faith, and compassion will continue to touch lives for years to come. She lived with purpose and grace—and those who knew her were truly blessed.
