Nicholas Danial Jenniges, a one-of-a-kind husband, dad, son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away at the age of 34 in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, on December 18, 2023. Born on June 14, 1989, in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, Nick was the cherished son of Mark and Karri (Fisher) Jenniges and beloved brother to Steph Jenniges.

Nick graduated from Proctor High School as a member of the Class of 2008, where he was known as a light-hearted, fun-loving guy - easily making friends and leaving an impact on anyone he crossed paths with.

Those that knew Nick, knew how proud he was of “his girls.” In 2017, Nick met Lauren, when she moved into the same neighborhood. He knew he had to introduce himself to the “hot chick” across the street and it was pretty clear from that moment that they were perfect for each other. Nick and Lauren were married on March 25, 2018, in Anoka, Minnesota and shortly after welcomed the best surprise and blessing in their lives, their first daughter, Jordan. A year and a half later, they welcomed their second daughter, Brooklyn who is a true “Daddy’s girl”. Nick was elated to be a Dad and he was without a doubt, one of the best.

Nick had a remarkable work ethic and was known for being an incredibly hard worker and supportive manager to employees at Top 10 Liquor and Northern Tool. As much as he enjoyed hard work, he was equally good at enjoying life. A passionate country music fan, ice-fisherman and sports enthusiast, Nick was always having a great time and loved to include family and friends. Nick's welcoming smile, calm demeanor, and gentle spirit will forever be remembered. He had a knack for finding enjoyment in the simple things in life, cherishing every moment spent in his meticulously maintained garage, which was his happy place. He was a big goofball and treasured spending time with his 11 nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. His sister, Steph’s children, Hunter, Kyle, Justin, Nora, Charlee and Bennett adored their “Uncle Nicho”. On Lauren’s side Nick was loved by his nephews, Brevick, Aksel, Avery, and Elliot and his niece, Aubryn.

Nick was a true fighter, demonstrating resilience throughout his life. A two-time childhood cancer survivor, Nick’s strength was truly incredible. When faced with a relapse of Leukemia in January 2023, he took each challenge head-on and with unwavering courage to fight for his girls. Undergoing countless treatments, a bone marrow transplant and faced with many obstacles along the way, Nick never gave up. Despite his valiant efforts and having officially beaten cancer for a third time, his battle was cut short when he tragically succumbed to complications from COVID-19.

Nick leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and strength. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Lauren, and their two beautiful daughters, Jordan and Brooklyn, who were the anchors of his world. Additionally, he is survived by his mom, Karri Jenniges; sister, Steph (Bill Holzmer) Jenniges; mother-in-law, Sally Sahr; sisters-in-law, Jessi, Erica (James) and brother-in-law, Adam; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and countless friends, who loved him unconditionally and supported him every step of the way. Nick is preceded in death by his dad, Mark; Grandma Connie, Grandpa Jerry, Poppy and Granny, Grandpa Tux, and Grandma Dodo.

As we celebrate the remarkable life that Nick lived, we invite his family and friends to join us in honoring his memory on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. The family will greet friends from 1:00-3:00 p.m., with a time of sharing memories at 3:00 p.m. As a sports enthusiast, Nick would love to see family and friends casually dressed in their favorite Minnesota sports apparel or team colors. We will gather to share stories, shed both tears of sadness and laughter, and remember the incredible person he was.

In this time of grief, let us find comfort in the cherished memories we were fortunate enough to create with Nick. May his legacy live on in our hearts forever.
