Myron A. Zaruba, age 88, of Chisago City; formerly of Wyoming, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, May 23, 2026.
Myron was born on September 14, 1937, in Rochester, Minnesota the son of Joseph and Arvilla (Wolfgram) Zaruba. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Beatrice “Bea” Giese, on June 25, 1960, at Wyoming United Methodist Church. Together they built a beautiful life in Wyoming, where they raised their three children and became deeply rooted in the community they cherished.
Myron was truly a pillar of the Wyoming community. As a banker and longtime operator of the First State Bank of Wyoming for more than 60 years, he formed lasting relationships built on trust, kindness, and integrity. He believed in hard work, service, and treating everyone with respect.
Outside of work, Myron embraced life wholeheartedly. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, enjoyed golfing, and proudly held his private pilot license. He faithfully contributed his time and talents to his church and community throughout his life. Above all else, Myron treasured his family. Nothing brought him greater joy than cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events. He rarely, if ever, missed a game, and his steady presence in the stands will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Myrna Nicolaou.
Myron will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his beloved wife of many years, Bea; children, Deb Peters, Mark (Heather) Zaruba, and Tim (Mindy) Zaruba; grandchildren, Sam Peters, Ellie (Adam Pancoast), Joey (Shay) Peters, Luke (Emily Jania) Zaruba, Brett Zaruba, Ryan Zaruba, Leah Zaruba, and Anna Zaruba; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Wyoming United Methodist Church, 5459 East Viking Blvd. Wyoming, Minnesota. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, June 1, 2026, at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake, continuing one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment at Wyoming Methodist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Wyoming United Methodist Church.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caring staff at Lindstrom Senior Living, Comfort Keepers, and Brighton Hospice for the love, compassion, support, and exceptional care they provided to Myron and his family. Their kindness and dedication brought great comfort during this difficult time.
His legacy of love, generosity, faith, and devotion to family and community will continue to live on in all who knew him.
