Milton Albert Bahnemann

Milton Albert Bahnemann, age 88, of Forest Lake, MN, died peacefully while surrounded by family on January 28, 2024.  

Milton led a life of service and devotion, contributing significantly to the city of Roseville. For many years, he served as a firefighter, fearlessly risking his own safety to protect the lives and property of others. His unwavering commitment and bravery in the face of danger made him an inspiration to his colleagues and a source of comfort to the community he served. Aside from his notable career in the fire department, Milton was also an accomplished mechanic for the city of Roseville.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Milton had a deep-rooted love for farming. He found solace and fulfillment in working the land, tending to crops, and nurturing the soil. His strong work ethic and immense knowledge of farming practices were passed down through generations, creating a lasting legacy for his family.

He is preceded in death by parents, Milton and Lorraine; wife, Mary Ann; son, Robert, grandson, Robert Sontag; granddaughter, Sara Sontag Schmidt; sister, Patricia Webinger; brother, Eugene.

He will be deeply missed by children, Cathy (Greg) Ross, Richard, Lisa (Steve) Sontag, Bill, Vicki (Alan) Bowser, Sue (Tom) Thill, Tom, James; 26 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; sister, Peg Fasciana; nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1 PM, on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake, MN. Visitation will be held 4-7 PM, on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Mattson Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.  Burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Maplewood, MN.
