Michael "Mike" Schwantes

Age 80, of St. Paul, MN, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 28, 2024, surrounded by those who loved him.

Mike was a man of many talents and a kind soul who touched the lives of all who knew him. A skilled mechanic, he could fix just about anything that came his way. His passion for working with his hands extended to his time as a Gandy dancer on the railroad, where he proudly contributed to the work of keeping the rails running smoothly.

Mike was also a cherished member of the Forest Lake American Legion, where he enjoyed camaraderie and shared many stories over the years. He found peace in nature and had a deep appreciation for the simplicity of life.

A man with an enormous heart, Mike was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His generosity, warmth, and positive spirit will be missed by his family, friends, and the many lives he touched throughout his journey.
