Michael Immel, age 64, of Lindstrom, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
Mike was born on May 19, 1961, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, to Howard and Judith (Longtin) Immel II. He was raised on the family farm in Forest Lake, where he developed a deep appreciation for hard work, family, and the outdoors. A proud graduate of Forest Lake High School, Class of 1980, Mike went on to pursue culinary training at VoTech, laying the foundation for a lifelong passion for food and cooking.
Over the years, Mike worked in a variety of restaurants, including Guldens in Maplewood and his families own venture, Mike’s Place in Winthrop. Whether in the kitchen or among friends, Mike’s love for good food and great company always shone through.
Mike lived in many places throughout Minnesota—Stillwater, Mankato, Cambridge—before settling in Lindstrom in 2024. No matter where he lived, he brought with him a sense of humor that could light up a room. He was always quick with a joke or a playful tease, making memories and laughter wherever he went.
He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life: casting a line on a quiet lake, reading John Sanford books, trying new recipes, or settling in to watch his favorite movies—especially the newer Star Wars adaptations. One of his favorite times of year was the Fourth of July, when he looked forward to the Forest Lake celebrations and the time spent with loved ones.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Judith. He is survived by his siblings: Diane (Larry) Rainer, Nancy (Jim) Beimert, Howard (Karen) Immel III, Steven (Jackie) Immel, and Chuck (Cheryl) Immel, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
Mike's life will be celebrated with love, laughter, and remembrance—just as he would have wanted.
