Michael Friel

Michael Friel, age 73, of Forest Lake, passed away on August 3, 2016, after a 3 year battle with cancer. Mike was a Bridge Worker for MnDOT, retiring after 25 years. Preceded in death by parents, Daniel & Alice Friel; brothers, Jerry, Wayne, John; sister, Gloria. He is survived by his loving wife, Gerri; daughter, Susan Friel; son, Joe (Dilma) Friel; grandson, Jeremy Friel; great granddaughters, Emma and Isabelle; sisters, Mary Alice (Arnold) Schmidt, Carol Kromschroeder; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral Service 12:00 p.m., Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Visitation 10 AM – 12 PM at the funeral home. Private family interment at Scandinavian Cemetery.
