Melvina C. Ledin, age 94, passed away at her home on Sunday, May 16, 2021, after a lengthy battle with dementia.  Mel is preceded in death by her parents, Malcom and Helen Peterson; loving husband, Howard; grandsons, Bob, Joey; brothers, Francis, Lawrence; sister, Elverna; nephews, Jerry and Roy.  She is survived by her daughter, Sheila and son-in-law, Joe BigBear; grandchildren, Lisa, Jesse, Tracy, Maria; ten great grandchildren; brother, Allen; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.  The family would like to wholeheartedly thank the gals from hospice, they are the best!  Mel will be truly missed.

Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m., Friday, May 21, 2021 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake, Minnesota.  Graveside Services follow at Union Cemetery, Maplewood, and will be conducted by Pastor Rob Krajewski and Joe BigBear.  In lieu of flowers and according to Mel’s wishes, memorials are preferred to the family.
