Mary Ann (Tahnk) Broos, passed away with her daughters by her side on June 20, 2020 at age 78.

We are finally able to lay our beloved mother to rest & give her the proper interment she so deserves.  Mary Ann was born November 15, 1941, in St Paul, MN to Charles & Clara (Duerr) Tahnk. She graduated from St Agnes High School in 1959. She worked in the insurance field for almost 40 years at St Paul Fire & Marine and Western National. A career change found her working for Minco Products as a Human Resource Administrator. She ended her career as the Manager of the Forest Lake Sears Store.  Mary Ann was a Volunteer Mediator for Anoka County from 1999 to 2019. She loved to help people & resolve conflict, especially within families.  Mary Ann also volunteered at St Joseph Church in Lino Lakes for over 25 years as an RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) sponsor & Faith Formation teacher. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her.  She loved spending time at her church, St Peters of Forest Lake, MN.  On October 25, 1969, she married John Broos Jr & together they raised two amazing daughters & one mediocre son. They spent 27 years in Lino Lakes MN before moving to Forest Lake MN in 2005.  In addition to being a dedicated & loving wife, mother & grandmother, Mary Ann also loved to sew, garden, play cribbage, work on crossword and Sudoku puzzles, and bake (she was well known by many for her decadent desserts).  As if that was not enough, she also made beautiful fleece & crochet blankets for family, friends & especially Veterans.   Mary Ann joins her parents, Charles & Clara; husband, John Jr.; brothers, Bruce, Charles, & Thomas; sister-in-law, Lenore, & son-in-law, Ronald Paul Jr. in Heaven.  She is survived by her brother, William (Robin), Pittsfield NH; sister-in-law, Kathy, Inver Grove Heights MN;  children, John III (Karen), Forest Grove OR, Jacqueline Paul, Blaine MN, Julie Hawkins, Blaine MN; her granddaughter, Mikayla, with whom she was so incredibly proud, (Tyler) Gullickson, Winona MN, and many nieces and nephews.
