Marvin "Marv" Aho

Marvin “Marv” C. Aho, age 81, of Forest Lake, Minnesota, formerly of Wright, Minnesota, passed away peacefully with Yvonne by his side on August 9, 2022.

Marv was an active member of the Forest Lake VFW, known to him as “The Club.”  He proudly served his country during his time in the United Stated Navy and after in helping drive veterans to appointments.  He was a member of the Navy LST Minnesota chapter serving as the secretary treasurer for many years.  Marv remained in contact with his shipmates and looked forward to their yearly reunions.  He worked at Unisys doing quality work for over 25 years.  He enjoyed all activities dealing with the family farm, whether it was planting his many trees or just taking the tractor out for a drive.  He was a good steward for the environment and was also very proud of his Finnish heritage.

He is preceded in death by parents, Leonard and Toini; sister, Elaine; niece, Kim; nephew, Kris.

He will be deeply missed by special friend, Yvonne Swanson; son, Aaron (Jerian Root), adopted daughters, Stephanie (Tracy) Gage, Pam Hulleman; sister, Edith (Brian) Houck; Nephews, Keith, Kevin, Jason, Tim.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, August 13, 2022, at the Forest Lake VFW, 556 12th St. SW, Forest Lake, MN, with gathering beginning at 11:00 a.m.  Interment at a later date at Lakeside Cemetery in Tamarack, MN.
