Lynette M. Carter

March 15, 1942 — May 8, 2025

Forest Lake, Minnesota

Lynette Marie Carter, age 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, May 8, 2025, at her assisted living facility in Forest Lake, Minnesota. She was born March 15, 1942. A beloved daughter of Russell Edward Dunn and Marian Alice Bredesen Dunn, and the King Most High.

Lynette was preceded in death by her sister, Lois (Ken) Fultz; her parents, Marian Dunn and Russell Dunn.

Lyn is survived by her children, Terri Haney, Steve (Judy) Carter, Jeanie (Mark) Kenow, Lois (Phil) Beimert, Shelly (Garry) Comstock; grandchildren, Joe Lindeman, Jacob Lindeman, Jamie Lindeman, Jenny (Kevin) Stute, Jeremy (Colleen) Comstock, Kyle (Angela) Close, Kelsie (Shaun) Summer; great grandchildren, Oaklynn Close, Adeline Summer, Rowan Summer, and Johnathan Paul Comstock; three brothers, Sam (Dianne) Dunn, Joel Dunn, Mark (Olivia) Dunn and one sister: Dawn Wetch; nieces and nephews and many more family members.

Lyn suffered a massive stroke in 2003 that took her speech, but not her determination or fortitude. She remained independent while living in her assisted living apartment with her cat, Kitty. At the time of her massive stroke, her prognosis was not good and the doctors had given her a possible life expectancy of up to five years.

20+ years later…

The Lord Jesus is the One from whom all blessings come, and He will use even the most difficult, painful experiences of our lives for His ultimate good purpose. God can use suffering to teach us to persevere thanks to the strength He provides those who trust in Him. Lyn's life changed dramatically that day, but Lyn slowly adapted to her new life along with its new challenges. She was definitely the strongest, fragile person we knew.

Before Lyn's stroke, she loved to cook and bake pies. After her stroke, she kept her humor- it was always fun to make her laugh! She loved spending time with her family! Her meticulous organizational skills remained until the end that kept her closets and drawers in a fine-tuned order. She had loyal friends who kept in touch throughout the years: her lifelong friends, Janet, Maggie, and Denise. She loved catching up on their lives and seeing all of their pictures.

A special and heartfelt thank you to Birchwood Arbors of Forest Lake and their entire staff for the care and concern for our mom over the years! We love you and appreciate you so much!

Lyn, a Loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother will be missed dearly. Until we meet again Mom, we love you!

Love,

Terri, Steve, Jeanie, Lowie, and Shelly
