Linda Olson, age 80, of North Branch, Minnesota, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of January 10th. She is now at peace, reunited in Heaven with the loved ones who went before her. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Bertha Holderness; her sister, Janice; her brother, Gene; and her beloved daughter, Robin.
She is lovingly survived by her children, Steven Olson (Roberta) and Wendy Severeid (Brian); her sister, Darlene Kolb; her seven cherished grandchildren, Brittney, Kelsey, Cameron, Mackenzie, Cody, Kaitlyn, and Jaydn; along with several nieces and nephews.
Linda was born on August 6, 1945, in Austin, Minnesota, to Leonard and Bertha Holderness. She graduated from Austin High School in 1963. Shortly after graduation, she married Gary Olson and moved to Grand Forks, North Dakota, where they welcomed three children: Robin, Steven, and Wendy.
While raising her family, Linda ran an in-home daycare for many years, providing care with patience and love. After her children were grown, she returned to her hometown of Austin, where she attended technical college and began a new chapter in her life. She worked at Quality Pork in Austin before later moving to Waseca, Minnesota, where she completed her working years at Itron Inc.
In her later years, Linda moved to Stacy, Minnesota, to be closer to her daughter Wendy and her family.
Linda had a creative spirit and loved crafting, especially crocheting and ceramics. She enjoyed doing puzzles, playing bingo and card games with friends and family, and could often be found passionately cheering on her beloved Minnesota Vikings. Above all, Linda will be remembered for her warm smile, wonderful sense of humor, and the joy she brought to those around her. Her legacy of love, faith, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM, on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at St. John Lutheran Church, 31075 Genesis Ave, Stacy, MN. Family will be greeting friends one hour prior to the service at the church. A burial will be held later in the spring at Grandview Cemetery in Austin, MN, where Linda grew up.
