Blaine

Kayla M. Houle, age 35 of Blaine, Minnesota, passed away surrounded by the love of her family and friends on Saturday, June 20, 2026. Though her time here was far too short, the impact she made on those who knew and loved her will be felt for generations.

Kayla was born August 18, 1990 and raised in Minnesota, spending her childhood in Blaine with her mother and in Maple Grove with her father. She graduated from Blaine High School and went on to attend Regency Beauty School, where she developed the skills and passion that allowed her to help others feel beautiful and confident.

Family was the center of Kayla's world. She was a devoted mother whose greatest joy was her sons, Logan and Silas. Whether she was cheering from the sidelines at their sporting events, planning family activities, or simply spending time together, her boys were her greatest pride and purpose. She looked forward to watching them grow into men, find happiness, and someday start families of their own.

Kayla was engaged to the love of her life, Cody Hoeft, and cherished the life they were building together. She welcomed Cody's children, Madison and Easton, with love and looked forward to the future they had dreamed of sharing. Among her greatest hopes were to someday marry, own a home filled with love and laughter, and become a grandmother.

Those who knew Kayla will remember her infectious laugh, generous heart, and remarkable ability to bring people together. She loved hosting family gatherings, cooking for those she loved, organizing celebrations, and making every holiday special. Whether it was a holiday meal, a backyard gathering, or simply a reason to get family and friends together, Kayla was often the one making it happen.

She enjoyed vacations with loved ones, spending time with friends, assisting brides and bridesmaids during wedding celebrations, and supporting her children in all their activities. A devoted Minnesota sports fan, she faithfully cheered for the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Wild. She was also a passionate animal lover who never hesitated to care for a pet in need.

Kayla's kindness was evident in the countless ways she helped others. She was the person people could count on to lend a hand, offer encouragement, and make sure everyone felt included. Her warmth, sense of humor, and caring spirit left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Laura Rodgers; her grandfather, Kenny Houle; her stepmother, Kim Houle; and her uncle, Troy Whaley.

Kayla is lovingly survived by her sons, Logan and Silas; her fiancé, Cody Hoeft, and his children, Madison and Easton; her father, Brian Houle; her grandmother, Corene Houle; her grandmother Pat and step-grandfather Vance Desens; the father to her boys Randy and his wife Marissa and their family; her half-brother Kyle Smith and his partner Christine; her half-sisters Sydney Eaton and her partner Levi, and Skylar Eaton and her partner Devin; her half-sisters Jordan Dennis and husband Ivan, and LaNevaeh Houle; her step-mother, Melanie Houle; as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends.

Although her family wishes they had more time with her, they find comfort in knowing that Kayla's love lives on through her boys, her family, and the many lives she touched. She will be remembered for her laughter, her generous heart, her gift for bringing people together, and the unconditional love she shared so freely.

Her story was not measured by the years she lived, but by the love she gave. And that love will never be forgotten.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM, on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake, MN.  Family will be greeting friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
