Karen Lee Ohl, age 66, of Wyoming, MN, died at home, Tuesday, August 26, 2025, after fighting a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Karen was born April 4, 1959 at Midway Hospital, St. Paul, MN, the daughter of Robert and Beverly (Gorka) Kittel. After graduating high school, she graduated from Century College with an AA in Certified Medical Assistant. She worked as a Medical Assistant for over 40 years, before retiring in 2020.
Karen married William "Billy" Ohl on October 18, 1980. They had two children, daughter, Tiffany and son, Daniel.
Karen loved being a mother and grandmother, and her special one day every week with her twin sister, Kathy. She also loved to garden and had a special talent for floral arrangements, and placing plants and colors in the perfect spot. She also enjoyed listening to music and playing cards.
Karen, with her gentle demeanor, will be deeply missed by everyone that knew her. She made it very clear that she was thankful for the five years she lived, after being first diagnosed.
She is survived by her husband, of nearly 45 years, William; daughter, Tiffany (AJ) Michels; son, Daniel (Sarah) Ohl; two grandsons, Brecken and Fergus; two granddaughters, Kaylee and Alexa; three siblings, twin sister, Kathy (Claude) Storhaug; brothers, David Kittel, Mark (Patty) Kittel; stepsister, Linda (Jim) Murphy; and stepbrother, Tom Szalapski.
A Celebration of Karen's Life will be held at 11 AM, on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake, MN. Family will be greeting friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A luncheon will be held at noon at the American Legion Post 225, 355 W Broadway Ave, Forest Lake, MN.
