Julie Kvale

Julie L. Kvale, age 55, of Lindstrom, Minnesota died while surrounded by her family following a series of health complications on Tuesday, October 26, 2021.  Julie was born July 29, 1966 in Saint Paul, Minnesota, the daughter of Jerold and Hazel (Colberg) Kiekhafer.  She graduated from North Branch High School.  Following graduation, she was united in marriage to John Kvale.  They met on a blind date and after a few weeks, John knew Julie was the one for him.  Together they made their home in Harris.  Julie worked for several years as a PCA at Green Acres Nursing Home in North Branch, later was a caretaker for to special needs children and completed her working career in retail.  In her free time, she loved to craft, build furniture, garden, go to wineries with John and above all spend time with her family.  She was a devoted wife and an amazingly involved mother and grandma, always interested in their activities and successes. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jerold and Hazel Kiekhafer, Richard Underhill; stepbrother, Doug Underhill.  She will be deeply missed by her husband of 37 years, John; sons, Darrick (Chantel) Kvale, James (Lauren Konze) Kvale; grandchildren, Kendra, Ella, Evelyn, Kylie, Matthew, Kailey, Tyler; siblings, Doug (Maureen) Kiekhafer, Terry (Harriet) Kiekhafer, Scott (Angie) Kiekhafer, Todd (Cindy) Kiekhafer, Jolene Kiekhafer, Rich (Connie) Underhill, Billie (Brad) Peltz; other family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake.  The family will greet friends from 1:00 until the time of the service.
