Judy R. Gramer

Judy R. Gramer, age 81, of Blaine, Minnesota, died peacefully on Saturday, August 15, 2026.

Judy was born on January 11, 1945, in Crookston, Minnesota. She grew up in Crookston and graduated from Cathedral High School with the Class of 1963. Following high school, Judy made her way to the Twin Cities, where she attended the Minneapolis School of Business to study administration. She began her career at the University of Minnesota, working as an administrative manager in the Anesthesiology Department. Judy lived in Roseville before making her home in Blaine later in life.

Judy was someone who believed life was meant to be enjoyed. She loved to craft, play Bingo and, perhaps most of all, socialize. She was always ready for an adventure and was willing to try just about anything at least once. Judy had a fun-loving personality and a wonderful ability to make people smile. She was also known for being the biggest innocent flirt—a playful part of her personality that those who knew and loved her will remember with a smile.

But beneath her outgoing spirit was a heart devoted completely to her family. Family was at the center of Judy's life, and she gave of herself freely to the people she loved. She treasured the time spent together, the conversations, the laughter and all the little moments that become the memories we carry with us.

Of all the roles Judy held in her life, being an aunt was perhaps the one she cherished most. She considered it one of life's greatest gifts. She loved her nieces and nephews dearly and took genuine joy in watching them grow, celebrating their lives and being a part of their families. Her love extended to the generations that followed, and she was blessed to be surrounded by many great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Judy leaves behind a legacy not measured by accomplishments or possessions, but by the people she loved and the memories she created. She had a gift for bringing people together, enjoying the moment and finding a little fun wherever she went. Her laughter, her adventurous spirit and her unmistakable personality will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant brother Darrel; brother-in-law, Wally Rieken; and nephew, Greg Gramer.

Judy will be deeply missed by her siblings, John (Barbara) Gramer and Jacque Rieken; nieces and nephews, Laura (Greg) Buchal, Paula (Mike) Terry, Mike (Lisa) Gramer, Dan (Kristin Allison) Gramer, Sara (Ryan Vernosh) Gramer, David (Brady) Gramer, Tricia Rieken, Todd (Melissa) Rieken and Jenny (Craig) Nystrom; along with many great- and great-great-nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 10, 2026, at the Church of Saint Peter, 1250 South Shore Drive, Forest Lake, Minnesota. The family will greet friends one hour prior to Mass at the church. Interment will be at Roselawn Cemetery.

Judy's life was a gift to her family, and her memory will live on in the stories they tell, the laughter they share and the countless moments that remind them of the one-of-a-kind woman she was.
