Joyce Ann Heinisch

Joyce Ann Heinisch, age 81, of Scandia, passed away on July 11, 2023, after a short and courageous battle with cancer.

Joyce was born in Sterling, Illinois to John and Edna Barthelme.  She graduated from Marquette University as a registered nurse.  Joyce was a longtime school nurse.  She was proud of being a farmer and running 280 head of beef cattle all by herself.  Joyce wasn’t afraid of anything and never backed down from a challenge.  She loved to hunt and fish and always made sure to get her dock time with her great grandson Jeremiah.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Roger; daughter, Veronica; brother, John; and sister, Elizabeth. 

Survived by children, Theresa (Don) Frogner, Michael (Tammy); 8 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren; and great grand dogs, Bo and Daisy.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 25267 Redwing Ave, Shafer, MN.  Family will be greeting friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery.
