John William Peterson

John William Peterson passed away at home on August 26, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.  

Born on June 14, 1941, in Minneapolis, MN, he was one of 10 children born to North and Bernadette Peterson.

John married his loving wife Darla Sater on November 3, 1962, and began a 63 yearlong life together.  

John was a proud member of the Carpenters Union for more than 60 years. 

John was preceded in death by his parents, North and Bernadette; his brothers, Menfred and Joe. 

He is survived by his devoted wife, Darla; children, Doug (Barb) Peterson, Linda (Gene) Lemaniak, and Todd Peterson; grandchildren, Jayme, Joshua, Nicholas, Kayla, Travis, Shane; great grandchildren, John Douglas, Frieya, Lawson, Laken.  

A Visitation will be held 4-7 PM, on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake, MN 55025.  A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM, on Wednesday, September 9th, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 5879 Wyoming Trail, Wyoming, MN 55092. Family will be greeting friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial at Linwood Cemetery, Linwood Township, MN.
