John “Jack” Legus, age 92, of Stacy, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at home on November 10, 2022. He grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota, graduating from Mound High School and the University of Minnesota. As a child, he played the violin and enjoyed swimming in Lake Minnetonka. He played football, basketball, and track for Mound High School. He served as a jet engine mechanic in the Korean War. Jack married Millie McKirdy on April 6, 1957, and they were blessed with three loving children. He enjoyed fellowship at church.
He is preceded in death by father, John Legus Sr.; mother, Violet; loving wife, Millie; grandson, Corey Perry; sister, Joan Campbell; and brother, Jerry.
He is survived by children, Linanne (Chuck) Lano, Nancy (Rynold) Peck, Kenneth; grandchildren, Kyle (Jessica) Perry, Lauren (Tony) Perry-Carlson, Aaron (Ciara) Barriger; great grandchildren, Connor Perry, Maggie Carlson, and Callan Barriger; many nieces, nephews and friends. He will be deeply missed.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at Wyoming United Methodist Church, 5459 E Viking Blvd., Wyoming, Minnesota. Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m., Tuesday at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Dr., Forest Lake, with a military ritual service at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will continue and hour prior to the service at the church. Interment at Hillside Cemetery, Minneapolis.
