John Fischer Sr.

John W. Fischer Sr., age 73, of Blaine, Minnesota, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, while surrounded by his loving family after a bone cancer diagnosis in 2016.  John was born March 3, 1949, in South Harbor, Minnesota the son of Donald and Twila (nee Van Vleet) Fischer.  He loved the outdoors; fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Kim Sparks and Donald Fischer.  He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Karen; children, Lisa Fischer, John (Carisa) Fischer Jr., EmmyLu (Brian) Howard; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; siblings, Linda (James) Chavis, Gene Fischer, Pam (Sandy) Korpi, Robert (Anna) Fischer, Brian Fischer, Patti (Allan) Kruse; many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 24, 2022, at Faith Lutheran Church, 886 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake.  Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m., Saturday at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake and one hour prior to the service at the church.  For those unable to attend, John's service can be viewed at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3T5481orSuE Private interment at Scandinavian Cemetery, Forest Lake.  Memorials may be directed to Faith Lutheran Church or St. Croix Hospice.
