Joanne M. Olson (nee Stumne), age 88, of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2021 with her loving husband by her side. She is survived by her devoted husband of 51 years, Paul; children, David Fowler, Danny (Andrea) Fowler, Elizabeth Fowler, Cindy (Nelson) Koyl, Ricky Fowler, Lynne (Tim) Larson, Sandie (Chuck) Weitemier; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild. Joanne was born and raised in Pine City, Minnesota. She married the love of her life September 20, 1969. They lived in Minnesota until 1979 then settled in Colorado where they were very involved in their church and loved to entertain friends. They had many adventures; hiking and camping in the mountains. After Paul retired in 2002, they moved to Sun City, Arizona to enjoy the warm sunshine, fruit trees and showing family around the beautiful state. Joanne was an avid reader who had a vast library of much-loved books and could often be found curled up with a good book. She taught the grandchildren the art of collecting pretty rocks and drinking root beer floats. She loved to have company and was always eager to play a game of cards or dominos or beat you in a good scrabble game. Due to declining health they moved back to Minnesota in the last years to be close to family.
