Jennie A. Hanson

July 7, 1937 — August 30, 2024

Forest Lake

Jennie Ann Hanson (nee Kilde) age 87 was welcomed into heaven by her Lord and Savior on August 30, 2024. She was born to August and Bertha Kilde on July 7, 1937 in Blackduck, Minnesota. Jennie was the youngest of 11 children. Her family was close, loving, and very musically gifted. Jennie enjoyed playing the piano and accordion and even was able to play by ear. She shared her talent and love of music with everyone. Even after her diagnosis of Alzheimer’s she was able to maintain her love of music by always whistling and tapping to the beat. It remained a form of comfort through the final days of her life. Jennie was an avid gardener and canned and froze her bountiful harvest. Jennie loved her family and friends and relished on having them surround her by welcoming anyone and everyone into her home.

Jennie married the love of her life Henry on October 29, 1955. They worked together side by side on their Christmas tree lots and later Christmas tree farm. Over the years they enjoyed various road trips and would get away in the winter to travel to warmer climates. They had four beloved children. As a family they did many camping trips, fishing, and outdoor activities. Jennie had a great deal of love for children and had a way of becoming everyone’s “grandma.” She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Over the years she perfected the underdog and even was able to do that for her great-great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry of 58 years; five brothers; Alvern, Bill, August, Joe, and Cloyd; five sisters, Verna, Florence, Mert, Lucille, and Darlene; grandson, Jeramia; great-granddaughter, Reiley.

She is survived by her children, Lynn (John), Roger, Gail, and Dale; 7 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Maranatha Church, 24799 Forest Blvd., Wyoming, Minnesota.  The family will greet friends from 10:30 a.m., until the time of the service at the church.  Interment at Calvary Cemetery, Forest Lake.

The family is thankful for the compassionate care of Jennie provided by Ecumen Hospice team.  Jennie will be forever missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She has always been a bright light to everyone she has ever met.
