Jeffrey Miles Brooks 2/16/1947 – 7/30/2026

Jeffrey Miles Brooks of Forest Lake, Minnesota. died peacefully at home on July 30, 2026 at the age of 79. Having served in Vietnam (67-68) Jeff battled cancer from exposure to Agent Orange. Jeff was preceded in death by Orville Brooks, Dorothy Brooks nee Wolf – Bever; brother, Eugene Brooks; sister, Miriam “Sis” Schliesing nee Brook; step dad, George Bever; step brothers, Ralph Bever and Raymond Bever; granddaughter, Sammantha Brooks; niece, Wanda Doocy nee Scott; nephews, Terry Scott and Blaine Scott.

Survived by wife, Sandra Brooks nee Aszmann; son, Ron; granddaughters, Hannah & Sammantha; sisters, Sandra Jennings nee Brooks, “Pat” Cuzzolino nee Brooks – Bever; step brothers, Robert Bever; step sister, Marilyn Warner nee Bever; nephews, Greg Bever, Rick Bever, Brad Schliesing, Tim Jennings (Jackie) and Burt Scott.

Jeff was born and raised in St. Paul, and graduated in 1965 from Murray High School. He went on to technical schooling for Machining and Programing. He worked at Hart Ski Co. in St. Paul for 14 years. Then he worked at TSI in Shoreview for 31 years and supervised their Maintenance & Machine Shop.

Jeff was proud to have served in the U.S. Army (8/66-8/68) and Vietnam (67-68).

In November, 1969 Jeff married Sandy Aszmann and have been happily married over 56 years! In 1989 Jeff and Sandy adopted Ron to be their son. They have enjoyed living in their home in Forest Lake with their neighbors for 42 years. In 2000 they traveled to Alaska for a cruise with friends as their shared interest in photography developed.

All his life, Jeff enjoyed many hobbies. Such as fishing up north at the cabin. He loved the wildlife and nature (butterflies and flowers) photography. Since 2009, Jeff and Sandy together produced their own yearly wildlife calendars, printed and gave them out. For many years, Jeff kept up the lawns at church, home and cabin, He, too, was the church trustee over the years at Messiah Lutheran Church, Forest Lake. He quipped that he changed a lot of light bulbs and mowed tons of grass. He also maintained the building and lawn mowers. He returned to his childhood hobby of model car building. Jeff’s favorite sport to watch was Football.

Services will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church, 807 Hwy 97 SE, Forest Lake, Minnesota. 55025 on Wednesday, August 12th: Visitation at 9:00 a.m.; Service at 10:00 a.m.; Refreshments and fellowship at 11:00 a.m. Committal & Interment are at Fort Snelling at 1:00 pm. Please direct memorials to Messiah Lutheran Church.
