Jean Ann Javor (née Chapman) January 11, 1940 – September 1, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Jean Ann Javor. She was a gentle soul whose kindness touched the lives of everyone she met. Jean passed away peacefully in Wyoming, Minnesota, surrounded by love.
Jean was born in Hibbing, Minnesota, and grew up in nearby Chisholm, where she graduated from Chisholm High School. A proud cheerleader for the Chisholm Blue Streaks, she was active in many school activities and cherished the friendships she made there. She often reminisced about the laughter, dancing, and fun times at the local Canteen, where her joy for life shone brightly. She remained connected with her High School “Alligator” girl friends over the years, sharing laughter and memories while celebrating her roots and local traditions like potica and porchetta.
After graduating from Hibbing Community College, Jean moved to the Twin Cities, working there for several years before relocating to Elk Grove, California. It was in Elk Grove that she raised her two sons, Chad and Rick, who were her greatest pride. In 1995, Jean returned to Minnesota and worked at St. Peter Catholic School in Forest Lake, where she became a valued part of the school community and formed many lasting friendships. Jean had a natural gift for nurturing the young minds of the children she loved. Whether through a kind word, a warm embrace, or a simple act of kindness, she made everyone feel valued and cared for.
Jean had a wide circle of dear friends and a special companion, Dick Stafford, who brought joy and companionship to her later years. She was deeply saddened at his passing. Jean was also blessed with four grandchildren who lit up her life: Joshua and Jordana, children of Chad and his wife Carol, and John and Brooke, children of Rick and his wife Jenny.
She is survived by her sister, Nancy Ramseth (Douglas); brother-in-law, Lauren Frankovich niece Cheryl Newbauer, and many nieces and nephews. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Norvin and Delilah Chapman; her sisters, LaVerne and Joyce; and her brother, Jerry.
Jean will be remembered for her warm heart, quick smile, and the joy she found in simple moments with family and friends. Her family is deeply grateful for the care she received in her final years and the love shown to her by so many throughout her life.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 17, 2025 at the Church of Saint Peter, 1250 South Shore Drive, Forest Lake, Minnesota. The family will greet friends one hour prior to mass at the church. Interment at Calvary Cemetery, Chisolm, Minnesota. Memorials are preferred to the Church of Saint Peter.
