Glenn Weeks

Glenn O. Weeks, 81, of Hugo, Minnesota, went to Heaven on April 21st, 2019 surrounded by family after a 12 year battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.

He was born to Mabel and Obert Weeks on October 28th, 1937 in Des Moines, IA.  He married Janet, the love of his life, on June 9th, 1957.  They have 3 children and 8 grandchildren.

He graduated from Iowa State University with BS in Electrical Engineering in 1960. Glenn and Janet left Iowa and moved to Minnesota for his first job out of college with Univac in St. Paul, MN.  During his career he worked with Control Data in Arden Hills, MN and Mississauga, Ontario, Canada; Amdahl in San Jose, CA and Unisys in Mission Viejo, CA where he retired in 2006. He loved his job and it showed in the respect he earned over the years from co-workers.

Glenn enjoyed planning trips and adventures for his family. The best ones were the ones that were educational and fun for his kids and later for his grandkids. Education was always important to him and he believed some of the best things in life were taught outside of a classroom. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, backpacking and being in his yard or just outdoors.  He was an avid sports fan, never missed a fantasy football season or a NCAA basketball pool. Glenn was also very active in his church and was known for his kind smile.

He is preceded in death by parents, Obert and Mabel Weeks. Glenn will be deeply missed by his wife, Janet: children, Brad (Wendy) Weeks, Beth (Dave) Kohner, Jane (David) Streitz; grandchildren; Katie (Dan) Huebsch, Taylor Streitz, Paul Kohner, Daniel Streitz, Sydney Weeks, Christian Weeks, Calvin Weeks, Jocelyn Weeks.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am, on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at New Life Lutheran Church, 6000 148th St N, Hugo.  Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment at Elim Lutheran Cemetery.
