Eugene G. Ekvall, age 87 of Coon Lake,
died peacefully, surrounded by his family on October. 14, 2006.
Survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Hazel; children, Sandra Anderson, Barry (Mary) Ekvall, Cindy (Ken) Jerve; grandchildren, Deb (Don) Thompson, Jenny (Terry) Huesmann, Shelly (Dave) Beck, Brian Jerve, Jill (Preston) Forsberg; and seven great grandchildren.
Eugene was an U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He had worked for Cream of Wheat before joining the Anoka County Highway Department, where he remained until his retirement.
Funeral Service 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October. 17, 2006, Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Visitation 9:00 until the 11:00 AM funeral service. Interment at Victor Hill Cemetery.
