Emily Boyer

July 5, 1938 — July 8, 2023

Forest Lake

God took Emily Annette Swenson Boyer home on July 8, 2023 at 5:25 a.m.  in New Brighton, Minnesota.
Emily was born July 5, 1938 in Caledonia, North Dakota to Vera and Davis Swenson. She graduated from Erskine High School, Erskine, Minnesota, in 1957.
Emily worked as the secretary to the superintendent for the Climax-Shelly school district for 38 years, and loved every minute of it.
She married Tommy Boyer on October 25, 1958 at Rodness Lutheran Church in Erskine.
Emily was very active in the school, church and community. She and Tommy raised their son and daughter, David and Pamela, in Climax and supported them in all that they did. They never missed a musical, sporting or scholastic event.
In 2003, a move was made to Forest Lake to be near family. Her favorite position in life was to be a grandmother to Dusty and Toby, thus her nickname, Granny.  Again, Emily supported her grandsons, and never missed an event they were in, and became an avid tennis fan. Her favorite song was “One Day at a Time”.
Emily will be remembered for being strong, sweet, a prayer warrior, and beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother and friend.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tom “Tommy” Boyer; brother, Ervin.  She is survived by her son, David (Gina), grandsons, Dusty (Rose), Toby (Elizabeth), and daughter, Pamela; siblings, Kay (Duane) Oleson; brother, Dennis (Donna) Swenson.
Private family services were held.
May God richly bless the memory of Emily Boyer.
Burial TBD at Ringsaker Cemetery, Buxton, North Dakota.
