Eloise Ann Benoy (Engler)

After 94 remarkable years, Eloise passed peacefully while surrounded by family on February 25, 2023.  She was born on July 17, 1928. Eloise lived almost her entire life in Forest Lake, MN.  She is survived by her four children, Dwight (Patricia), Monte, Karen, and Brian (Deb).  She has nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Warren; parents, Reuben and Wilma Engler; and brother, William Engler.

Eloise had a passion for entertaining, playing cards, reading, church/community service, travel, and golf.  She loved her family and friends dearly.

Eloise was actively involved at, and a lifelong member of, Faith Lutheran Church in Forest Lake.  She was a founding member and president of the Forest Lake Beautification Club Inc., a group of women who remained lifelong friends. The club was dedicated to making their community a welcoming environment through volunteer work and fundraising. Their work included a downtown flower garden and hanging flower baskets that lined Lake Street.

Eloise was an avid golfer who didn’t hit the ball long but was always straight.  She was an early member of Forest Hills Golf Club and belonged to multiple leagues playing several times a week.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM, on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Faith Lutheran Church, 886 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake, MN 55025.  The family will be greeting friends one hour before the service at the church. She will be laid to rest at Scandinavian Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Faith Lutheran Church are preferred.
