Dr. Fred Benz, age 76, of Blaine, Minnesota, went home to be with Jesus, Friday, April 17, 2020, at Mercy Hospital, Coon Rapids. Fred was born March 17, 1944, in St. Paul, Minnesota to Adeline and Roy Benz. He was raised in Falcon Heights and graduated from Alexander Ramsey High School where he played hockey, ran track, cross country and played the drums. He went on to further his education; studying at MN State University Mankato and from there attended Northwestern Chiropractic College.
Dr. Benz was a very respected Chiropractor for 51 years in White Bear and Vadnais Heights. He was known to his colleagues and patients, as compassionate and caring. He loved being a Chiropractor and helping people learn how to take control of their health. He would say often, “Patients who understand their body, heal better.” Survivors include his wife, Sandi; three children, Kimberly, Kelly (Marc), Ryan; two grandchildren, Evan, Seth (Kelly); one sister, Sue Cox (Paul). He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Adeline and Roy Benz. Fred was incredibly active in church, a devoted Christian, and passionate drummer. He played on the Worship Team Sunday mornings, praising his Lord and Savior. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and running. He will always be remembered for his love of music, his love of Jesus, and his love for helping others.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are preferred and can be directed to Mattson Funeral Home.
